In the closing ceremony of the two-day ceremony of Adi Para held at the Tribal Research and Training Institute (TRTI) campus in Nava Raipur on Saturday Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said the government is working with firm resolve to secure the future of the tribal community with the commitment of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah.
He noted that the region, long affected by Naxal influence and deprived of development for decades, is now witnessing rapid change and expressed confidence that the state is moving steadily towards becoming free from Naxalism.
Shri Sai said the theme of ‘Adi Parab’ was “From Tradition to Identity” and that the event provided a platform to showcase the rich tribal culture, art and traditions of Chhattisgarh. Tribal folk artists from Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Odisha, Maharashtra and Jharkhand participated in the festival.
Members of 43 tribes gathered on a single platform, reflecting the state’s cultural diversity. The Chief Minister also congratulated the organising the department and extended best wishes for ‘Adi Parab’ painting and attire being recognised in the Golden Book of World Records.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister inaugurated a 100-seater hostel built at a cost of Rs 5 crore at the TRTI campus to provide better opportunities for higher education and research to youth from the tribal community.
The Chief Minister said that one of the two museums located at the campus is dedicated to the life of martyr Veer Narayan Singh. On November 1, 2025, on the occasion of the silver jubilee of Chhattisgarh’s statehood, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the country’s first digital Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Memorial and Tribal Freedom Fighters Museum, which is a matter of pride for all.
He said the second tribal museum presents a vivid depiction of tribal life, including traditional costumes and customs associated with occasions such as birth, marriage and death. In the race of modernity, it is important to preserve the country’s fading cultural heritage.
Shri Sai said the welfare of the tribal community has become a national priority under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. He added that the election of Smt Droupadi Murmu, a daughter of the tribal community, as President is a matter of pride for the entire tribal society.
The Chief Minister said that under the Dharti Aaba Tribal Village Utkarsh Abhiyan, transformation work is underway in 6,691 identified tribal habitations in Chhattisgarh. Bringing particularly vulnerable tribal groups into the mainstream remains one of the government’s top priorities.
He said that through the PM-JANMAN scheme, special backward tribal communities are being provided roads, housing and other basic facilities. Under the scheme, more than 56,000 families in over 2,300 PVTG habitations in the state are benefiting.
Shri Sai said the Niyad Nellanar Yojana (Your Good Village) is an important initiative of the state government aimed at delivering basic facilities and people are already availing benefits such as roads, electricity, drinking water, health services and education.
