Young athletes are making Chhattisgarh proud: Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai
Raipur, June 14, 2026/ Indian Under-18 hockey player Shri Avi Manikpuri paid a courtesy visit to Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai at his residence office here on Sunday. Shri Avi recently represented India at the Under-18 Asia Cup in Japan, where the team clinched the gold medal with an impressive performance throughout the tournament.
Congratulating the Bilaspur-based player on his achievement, Chief Minister said Chhattisgarh’s young athletes are bringing laurels to both the state and the country through their talent, discipline and hard work.
Shri Sai expressed confidence that Avi will continue to excel and play an important role in taking Indian hockey to greater heights. He said the young player’s achievement will inspire aspiring athletes across the state and showcase the potential of Chhattisgarh’s sporting talent on the international stage.
Chief Minister said the state government is continuously working to promote sports and provide better facilities and opportunities to athletes. Efforts to strengthen sports infrastructure and make resources available to players are helping young talents hone their skills and compete at higher levels, he added.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao alongwith Chhattisgarh Hockey Association president Shri Firoz Ansari, general secretary Dr Manish Shrivastava and international hockey player Shri Mrinal Choubey were also present on the occasion.
