Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai Performs Jalabhishek at Jaleshwar Mahadev Dham, Prays for Prosperity of the State

Canal Expansion under Kshirpani Medium Irrigation Project to Enhance Irrigation Capacity, Bringing Major Relief to Farmers

Raipur, May 10, 2026/ Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai visited Dongariya village in Pandariya development block of Kabirdham district on May 10. He offered prayers and performed Jalabhishek with traditional rituals at the renowned Jaleshwar Mahadev Dham. The Chief Minister prayed to Bhagwan Shiva for the happiness, peace, prosperity and well-being of the people of the state.

Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that the cultural and spiritual traditions of Chhattisgarh are an integral part of the state’s identity. He stated that such sacred places are not only centres of faith, but also sources of inspiration that help keep the state’s cultural heritage “alive and deeply connected with society.” He added that the state government is continuously working to preserve and promote cultural and religious heritage alongside development initiatives.

On the occasion, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai also made several important announcements for regional development and expansion of public facilities. He announced canal expansion works worth Rs. 50 crore under the Kshirpani Medium Irrigation Project. The project is expected to expand irrigation facilities across nearly 1,100 hectares of agricultural land, providing significant benefits to farmers.

The Chief Minister also announced approval of Rs. 50 lakh for the development and beautification of Jaleshwar Mahadev Dham. In addition, he announced the upgradation of the approximately 2.5-kilometre road from Kharhatta to Dongariya village, stating that the project would make transportation “more convenient, accessible and efficient” for local residents and devotees.

It is noteworthy that Jaleshwar Mahadev Dham, located in Dongariya village of Kabirdham district, is widely revered among local devotees as a sacred pilgrimage site. According to local belief, the Shivling at the temple emerged naturally. Surrounded by natural beauty, the temple becomes a major centre of devotion during the holy month of Shravan, on Shravan Mondays, and on Mahashivratri. Nestled amidst picturesque hills and riverbanks, the dham is recognised for its atmosphere of “spiritual energy, devotion and cultural harmony.”

Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, Rajya Sabha MP Smt Laxmi Verma, Pandariya MLA Smt Bhavana Bohra, Takhatpur MLA Shri Dharamjeet Singh, along with several public representatives, community members and devotees, were present.
