Ayushman Cards Enable Free Treatment Worth Lakhs; Renewed Confidence Visible Among Beneficiaries
Raipur, April 23, 2026/ In a significant step towards inclusive governance, Chhattisgarh Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai is extending comprehensive support to youths who have renounced Maoism and returned to the mainstream. These rehabilitated individuals are now being systematically integrated into various welfare schemes, with the administration prioritising the provision of essential documents and services to facilitate their fresh start.
Comprehensive Support: From Documentation to Healthcare
With a focus on empowerment, the administration is ensuring that rehabilitated youths receive key documents such as ration cards, Aadhaar cards, and other necessary credentials with ease. As part of efforts to connect them with quality healthcare services, Ayushman cards are also being issued, enabling them to access treatment without financial burden.
Robust Health Coverage Under Ayushman Schemes
At a programme held at the District Hospital in Bijapur, Ayushman cards were distributed to rehabilitated youths, opening access to multiple health schemes. Under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana and the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Ayushman Swasthya Yojana, beneficiaries are entitled to benefits such as free medical treatment of up to Rs 5 lakh for BPL families and health coverage up to Rs 50,000 for APL families.
Additionally, under the Mukhyamantri Vishesh Swasthya Sahayata Yojana, financial aid of up to Rs 25 lakh is available for the treatment of rare and critical illnesses. Beneficiaries were also provided detailed guidance on availing the benefits and navigating the procedures under these schemes.

The distribution of Ayushman cards has infused a sense of optimism and self-assurance among the rehabilitated youths. Expressing appreciation for the government’s efforts, they conveyed their determination to move forward and build a better future.
