‘Didi Ke Goth’ Inspires Women to Move Forward Through Informative and Motivational Radio Programme: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai

Chief Minister Releases Didi Ke Goth Coffee Table Book, Bihaan Vani Quarterly Magazine and Mor Gaon Mor Pani Book

Raipur, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai attended the first anniversary celebration of the radio programme ‘Didi Ke Goth’ and the Cluster-Level Organisation Conference at Pt. Deendayal Upadhyay Auditorium in Raipur on July 9. Addressing the gathering, he said that Didi Ke Goth has emerged as a powerful platform for inspiration for women across Chhattisgarh, sharing motivational stories on self-reliance, livelihoods, innovation, and entrepreneurship. He said that the success story of one woman inspires thousands of others, making the programme a meaningful instrument of women’s empowerment.

On the occasion, the Chief Minister released the Didi Ke Goth Coffee Table Book, the Bihaan Vani quarterly magazine and the Mor Gaon Mor Pani book. He also honoured women who shared their success stories through the programme and visited an exhibition based on the 12 episodes of Didi Ke Goth. He interacted with members of Self-Help Groups at the photo gallery organised at the auditorium premises, learning about their innovations and livelihood activities while encouraging them to continue their entrepreneurial journey.

The Chief Minister interacted virtually with Lakhpati Didi, Smt. Vidya Nishad, from Durg district. She shared that after losing her husband during the COVID-19 pandemic, she received training and guidance through the Bihaan programme. She started a garment and fancy store business and now earns an annual income of more than Rs. 5 lakh, achieving financial independence. The Chief Minister appreciated her achievements and wished her continued success.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Didi Ke Goth has completed one year, with 12 episodes broadcast so far. Every second Thursday of the month, a successful woman shares her journey of struggle and achievement in her own dialect, inspiring women across the state.

He said that Indian culture regards women as embodiments of divinity, citing the Vedic verse, “Yatra Naryastu Pujyante Ramante Tatra Devata.” He said that women associated with the Bihaan programme are becoming economically empowered. Some have become Drone Didis, while others are working as masons, practising organic farming, manufacturing catering plates, engaging in animal husbandry and pursuing other livelihood activities to strengthen their families’ economic condition. He added that today’s Lakhpati Didis are moving towards becoming Crorepati Didis and will play an important role in building a developed India and a developed Chhattisgarh.

The Chief Minister said that the state government is continuously working to strengthen women’s economic empowerment. Referring to his visit to Arang during Sushasan Tihar, he said that women there have developed an integrated goat, poultry and fish farming model through a Goat Unit, enabling them to become Lakhpati Didis. He described such innovations as a source of inspiration for women across the state.

The Chief Minister said that the state government has launched the Chief Minister Helpline 1076 to strengthen good governance, enabling citizens to register complaints related to electricity, water, revenue, police and other departments. Nearly 8,000 officials are working to ensure prompt grievance redressal, and he personally reviews the system regularly. He also said that under the Chief Minister’s Electricity Bill Payment Resolution Scheme, consumers with electricity bill arrears of up to two years are receiving surcharge relief, with more than ₹700 crore waived so far.
